Don't start with "I agree" "I disagree." Be a bit more creative.

ReplyDelete1) In some aspects, I do write this way. I don't find myself adding my initial emotions to the assignment, but based on my feelings and newfound interests in the text read, I begin to question possibilities, which in turn result in tentative arguments.
2) I do not have a specific approach to writing. I write what I believe is right, what I personally gathered from what I read. I write what I felt and saw, and most times its based on past experiences. For example, if there was a text about acting, I could critique the way in which someone say we must act for the audience, based on how I act for the pleasure of the audience. So, my writing is influenced by my personal experience (related to the topic read).
3) I do not really feel the need to write what someone else wants, but (I wouldn't say that I do not care about what the professor wants) if I do not say what I know and feel, then I am not expressing my perception of anything. Then I am not thinking for myself but rather thinking for my professor (whom can think for themselves). So, with that being said, I write what I feel, what I know and my opinion on what is write. Unless told to do something very specific, I like expository writing.

Deletei completely agree.
I think there is a lot of truth to what Crystal is saying, especially about the part where she says she doesn't write material just to guess what the professor is saying because if that's the case, you are just trying to think just like the professor instead of formulating your own thoughts.

ReplyDelete1)Depending on whats being read determines my reaction. Its hard not to judge ill say a title by it cover but it most ways I do. I can write this way sometimes too most times definitely, because every reader will get something different from the text. i don't write to please others when its asking for my thoughts. It will either be respected or it wont.
2)I don't have an approach to writing because it sets you up to think a certain way unless there are standards asking for it, IE: a personal essay vs a critical thinking essay. When you have an approach you will only look for details based on that approach absorbing only little information based on that initial process. I can only react to what is being read explain my feelings. Usually personal feelings fall into the lines of past or present experiences that i encountered. I know it wont be the same as someone, but after can be brainstormed.
3)i never wrote what a professor wants me to say because I'm not the teacher. it wont benefit me none to sit here writing about an assumption on someones mind set. Unless the teacher upholds certain rules to follow that he or she wants to see that im able to catch certain things in the readings other wise they are my thought and feelings and mine alone.
I do agree with you when you say that you write what you want to say, instead of guessing what the professor wants you to say. You are correct, we are the students, and we are here to learn, so we must write what we think and let the teacher correct/teach us. However, I have had professors, who will give you a bad grade if you go against their opinions and/or ideas. Which is extremely unfair.

1. It depends on the situation and/or text that I am writing about. A lot of the time I do write in this way, where I first observe what I feel and further analyze this. My writing shows that my thought process gets more detailed as I write; I often don't think ahead of my writing but rather write what I feel is right.
ReplyDelete2. I am not sure that my method of writing is better. That is because a lot of the time my writing can seem very unorganized and all over the place. Although, I feel like I should organize my thoughts ahead of time, it is difficult to do so when I am writing based on my opinion.
3. At times I do yes. I try to see what the professor would want me to say and at times I will say it. Once again, it depends on the situation/ topic. If it is my own opinion, I will not.
1) It depends on the assignment. I usually just dive into it without doing much thinking, but as i write my ideas start to develop.
ReplyDelete2) my approach to writing works for me. However, it may not work for a lot of people.
3) It depends on the professor. There are some professors who don't like to see different ideas to what they are teaching or their opinions. so I usually try to guess what the professor would like me to say. However, if I'm in a class where the professor welcomes different opinions and ideas, then I write what I want to say.

1) I actually do write in this manner, but it will depend on the assignment that is given to me and the level of connection or reaction I will have towards the question or statement.
ReplyDelete2) I'm not particularly sure that my method into writing is beneficial because even I myself have a hard time finding a method or approach of responding in a acceptable manner. I tend to be led astray easily when trying to answer something or I'm unable to able it directly. It depends on what is being asked or stated.
3) Sometimes I do,I answer according to what I believe what the professor is looking for a response or find a way to implement my ideas and combine it with what the professor is asking for. However, most of the time it depends on how the professor would approach the subject that is being asked or stated and whether or not they are expecting a response to their satisfaction or they are actually wanting a different point of view towards the subject. It mostly depends on the professor attitude or personality. I try to be safe.
I try to write in this way, but for me personally I feel I write better when I just let myself go free. I will always have an outline set aside with the main points for each section of my assignment, however when it comes time to write the paper I get lost in the ideas. At the end of my writing , I always look over what I've created. Of course I find some errors or run on sentences. I go back, fix those mistakes and finish with a successful assignment.
ReplyDeleteThis method may not work for others, it is a bit unorganized, but it works for me.
1. I do admit it to wring this way, but I also tailor my writings with person experiences or emotional connections as well.
ReplyDelete2. I think my approach to this style of writing is better because I also put my stamp on my writing by choosing to insert my experiences and emotions to it. In some ways that style of writing is what most people can relate to because it's "real".
3. I do not write with the hopes of guessing what the professor wants me to say. It doesn't help me at all because the professor can tell at times that your writing isn't authentic. Writing your facts along with support to back up your claims make your argument more credible.

ReplyDelete1.It varies on what I am writing about, I usually try to relate my personal experience to the subject but it is not easy for me to express my feelings. I usually have an idea of where I want to end up but sometimes along the way something changes and I find myself completely somewhere else.
2.The form suggested asks about a more organized approach and more attention to the feelings related to the topic which I don’t necessarily do but I believe I should focus more on that part.
3.Not always but sometimes I do. Depending on the professor, sometimes I try to guess what the professors' reaction would be if I write either way.

ReplyDelete1)I am primarily a fiction writer, so my approach to writing might be slightly different. I will have an emotional reaction to the things I am reading, and reflect on those feelings as I sit and let them stew around in my thoughts, but usually it is the other way around. In personal writings, I write to get a reaction out of my readers. My scattered thoughts become the first words on the page, coherent ideas are formed later.
2)I can't say for certain if my approach to writing is better. Personally, I believe that everyone has their own unique approach to writing, and I do not believe that there is an exact science to it either. I believe that my style of writing works for me, but it might not work for others, and their methods might work for them, but won't work for me.
3)Sometimes it's unavoidable to write what the professor wants to hear. In the end it depends on the professor and the topic on whether I write what I think the professor wants to hear, although I do believe that all professors like to see originality in heir student's works. That isn't always the case. Sometimes writing what you think the professor wants can even backfire, because they will become critical of you.
1. I write from my heart first and then my mind, whatever comes to my thoughts I put them down. I have always been that kind of a writer.
ReplyDelete2. I don't think my writing is better, I just write; this is me and how I feel about a topic that comes forward.
3. No, I do not write what I think anyone wants me to say; I am straight forward about what I am writing.
